Doha, Qatar – 27 August 2026: Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisaalam Ali (Dhaay), held a special meeting with officials from the Qatar Leadership Centre at the Centre’s headquarters in Doha.
The meeting focused on plans to establish the National Academy of Somalia, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) expected to be signed soon to advance the implementation of the initiative.
The Minister was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Kamaal Daahir Guutaale, and the Prime Minister’s Senior Adviser, Dr. Ahmednur Uleex.
The meeting formed part of the official visit of Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, to Qatar and was linked to Somalia’s national reform and transformation agenda, particularly efforts to strengthen the capacity of government institutions and enhance leadership development.
The establishment of the National Academy of Somalia is expected to contribute to strengthening knowledge, leadership skills, and the institutional capacity of Somalia’s government institutions.
